When your money sits in the bank, you earn some interest, so why not make some extra income on your stocks and gold while they sit in your broker's vault. Dividends aren't the only way to make money on the stocks you hold long-term. "Call options" can give you some extra income on those stocks for the years they are sitting idle in an IRA account (or even in a regular account).

Here's a quick guide to how it works.

Call options are a right to buy a stock at a specific price between now and a future expiration date. If I buy an IBM December 200 call, it means I have the right to buy 100 shares of IBM for $200 per share any time between now and December, regardless of the market price. Even if IBM is at 225 in December, I can buy it for $200. I can also just sell the call for the difference in price between the two, and pocket the profit. However, from a seller's standpoint, I am selling the right to someone else, who may buy my shares for $200 any time between now and December. He pays me a premium, say $500, for this right, when IBM is at $194. I pocket the extra $500 income, and if the shares get pulled away from me at $200 per share, I still have a $600 profit there too. I just made $1100 instead of the $600 I would have made without selling the calls.

Of course, if IBM goes to $220 the next week, I might cry real tears, but there's no reason. Profit is profit, and it's never a bad thing. Never cry over a "could have made" deal, just be happy with the profits you have in hand.

However, if IBM stays in the $185 to $195 range for many months, I continue to earn extra income by selling calls against my shares. When these expire, I can sell more. It's a constant stream of income. Of course, in events such as the financial crash of the second Bush administration, when most stocks fell 40%... you will still see a loss. However, the income from the calls will help take some of the sting out of it. If you own gold bars, the same principle applies, but you'll need a commodities broker to trade these types of calls on gold.

This isn't a quick fix or guarantee against buying bad stocks or investments. If you had Citibank or Lehmen shares in 2008 or 2009, nothing would have saved you. But it does create extra income against the solid stocks you own that are not built like a house of cards. Nothing is guaranteed in the stock market, not even with blue chips, so you need all the extra income you can get.

You can also sell deep in the money calls, when you think the stock may tumble but you don't wish to sell the shares. If CAT is at 115 and you suspect a fall coming, you can sell the 100 (strike price) calls, for about $1600 or more. If it falls to 98, you will keep my stock and get enough money from the call sale to cover most of your losses.

If you want to try it, look on your broker's website for Options quotes, and start shopping for a proper "call" to sell against your shares. I always sell long-term options, and it usually works well for my account.

Boat ramp stranded on shore! Lake Lavon 2006 by Ollie girl

OLD SAYBROOK - A tractor trailer attempting to negotiate a sharp ramp failed to do so resulting in an accident tying up a major highway ramp for hours.

According to Connecticut State Police Troop F, William R. Whitney, Jr., 46, of Ashvelot, N.H., drove the tractor trailer on the ramp connecting Route 9 southbound with Interstate 95 northbound on Dec. 28 at about 11:30 a.m. when the vehicle rolled onto its right side and collided into a metal beam guard rail.

The vehicle's airbag deployed upon impact.

Ashvelot was cited by police for traveling too fast, a violation of Connecticut State Statue 14-218a.

Large signs on Route 9 Southbound warn drivers that the speed limit of the section of highway immediately after the Exit 2 Northbound on-ramp reduces to 35 miles per hour with even lower speed limits posted on the ramps themselves.

Ashvelot was taken by Old Saybrook ambulance to the Shoreline Medical Center for head laceration injuries.
His vehicle, which experienced damage to both the left and right sides, was towed by Eric's Towing Service.
The ramp was closed for two and a half hours and was reopened at 3 p.m. with crews from the Connecticut Department of Transportation continuing work on the ramp's guardrails.

Stock Market tips devang Visaria by devang4u

If you're like many investors in the U.S. Stock Market, you've watched the prices of your stocks fluctuate dramatically over the first part of May 2010. The big questions many Stock Market investors want to know are: why? and what should I do about my stock holdings and investments?

And if you've asked the Why question lately - you're not alone; the government also wants to know why the Stock Market took a dramatic downturn on May 6, 2010 and went so far as to conduct a financial services subcommittee hearing on the one-day Stock Market plunge. Some experts blame that one-day Stock Market plunge on a mixture of computerized sell-off and worries that the European debt crisis would spread to the U.S. (source: www.startribune.com/business/93075584.html)

As for concerns about what you should do about your stock holdings, the general consensus seems to be that it may be wise to hold your investments. However, the economy remains to be quizzical; according to the Star Tribune, the economy gained nearly 300,000 jobs in April, yet the unemployment rate reached nearly 10 percent. (source: www.startribune.com/business/93075584.html)

Stock Market and investing reports show decline

Investors are particularly challenged by the milieu of reports suggesting that the Stock Market is becoming increasingly less forgiving and generous with stock interest rates. Here are just a few notable reports all Stock Market investors may want to read:

"Interest rates plummet as investors seek safety"

"Gov't data show solid recovery but concerns remain"

"Gold slides from record high""Stocks tumble on worries about European growth"And, finally, a comparison of the current state of the Dow Jones Industrial Average to where it was 10 years ago (hint: it's the same)

General investing outlook shows growth

Despite the heavy reports and indications that the Stock Market may be declining and becoming increasingly less profitable for long-term investors, the outlook for 2010 shows a 3 percent growth, according to a Wells Fargo Securities report, "Fed Decision: Holding Steady as the Recovery Matures;"

Two interesting aspects appear in this recovery. First, gains in output are associated with productivity improvements and limited job increases. Second, adding capital equipment without labor suggests a rise in the capital/labor ratio. These two trends suggest increased returns to a smaller existing workforce but limited job opportunities for those without the right skills. (source: "Fed Decision: Holding Steady as the Recovery Matures")

So, as a small business owner or general Stock Market investor, what should you do to be smart with your money? Continue to read economic reports, follow your individual Stock Market investments, and identify some reliable financial advisors or Stock Market resources you can trust. Above all else, remember that investing in the Stock Market can be a gamble, and, like all gambling scenarios, you shouldn't risk any money you can't afford to lose.

Computer technology has become probably the most highly effective tool within the world of art and media. A lot more firms are opening jobs for graphics designers who can carry out several computer-related tasks. Web designers are very in demand globally, their work is

The 2009 may appear for web design companies like walking on fire, as now, every organization and most of the visitors are aware of do's and don'ts of the web designing. Now, the web design companies need to pay extra attention to the common mistakes committed by the designers. The most common mistake designers make is that a visitor has to dig into the website to get a particular service or product, even if he is impressed of the foremost presentation.

Normally, a visitor stops by for just a few seconds to have the first hand information about whether this site offers the service he wants. If you design a web page which answers well to the aforesaid question, but one needs to travel through three to five more web pages to approach the product, then this will be a poor web design.

How you are better than the other companies with similar services comes at the last place for the customer. The first thing a customer expects is, reach to the product with one or two clicks.

An smart designer will design a web page that makes every product available on the header of the page.

Now internet is becoming the first option for shopping for many nations and they will give a few extra seconds to your web page only if they find their desired product with its name right on front. The contact details and product related additional information should be on the footer. This becomes convenient to immediately order the product for the customer, before he changes his mind and assures a few bucks for the enterprise as well.

For instance, you can visit Miracle Studios website (URL: Miraclestudios.in).

This is a web design company in India and they have put magnificent graphics on the header, which gives an idea about what quality they serve. The services offered have been highlighted on the front and you can get their contact details too from the header with one click. This is how a bewitching web page is designed, where the visitor need not to dig into the deep to find the desired stuff.

Chpt7-SecC: How Should I Go About Diversifying? by palynp

While always seems to get the attention of the media, silver is a viable investment as well due to its use in industrial applications and its use in coins and jewelry. Silver has been a desired element for thousands of years as a result of its beauty and workability in make jewelry and other ornaments. As far as industrial use, silver is used in high end electrical components due to its electrical conductivity. With this wide range of uses, silver should continue to be a desired commodity in the future.

One way to invest in silver is stock investing. Buying stocks in companies that produce silver is done just like any other company or industry. The top two silver mining countries are Mexico and Peru. The United States, Canada, and Australia are also large producers of silver. Investors looking for silver producing stocks may want to stay with the last three due to the more stable economies and governments in these countries. Investors need to thoroughly research companies before investing in them as their possible stock price improvement is not tied only to the price of silver. Silver is often mined as a byproduct of copper and other precious metals, so a silver producing company might not even focus its energies of the production of silver.

Most people who are seeking to invest in silver are probably of thinking of buying silver coins and silver bars. The trick here is to find sellers who are actually selling at the spot price of silver (spot plus a reasonable fee). A general rule is that the more silver you are buying the less percentage of fees you should be expected to pay. When buying coins to invest in their silver content be certain you are not buying coins for their numismatic value (the value to a collector of rare coins). Most common mintages of coins that were circulated in the past (pre 1964 dimes, quarters, halves, etc) can be bought close to their spot value, but again if you are only buying a few you will be charged a higher percentage fee. Sites such as eBay can be used to buy small lots of silver coins near spot value, or if you are lucky, even below spot value.

Remember, when buying silver or anything else for an investment look for drawbacks in price and buy low. Have patience when looking for bullion coins and get a good deal and don't just take any deal that you find. Be a long term investor and silver should pay off for you in the long run.

Disadvantages regarding buying and selling within penny stocks

Online Stock Trades - Sell or Buy by lastnychero

Many successful professionals are bad traders. While not everybody is cut out for trading, just like not everybody can be a lawyer or an engineer, there are certain traits that, while giving you advantage in your chosen profession, will hurt you in stock trading.

Engineers are often poor traders. Why? They want to measure and understand everything in precise terms. But stock trading is not a science; it does not lend itself to precise measurements. Trading is driven by human emotions. An engineer may develop a precise formula for valuing stocks or measuring charts only to see it shattered by market action because the market may view the exact same ratio, say p/e, as too high or too low, depending on the prevailing sentiment. As a result, engineers often argue with the market for no other reason than because their formula tells them a stock should be doing X while it is doing Y.

Academics

As they say on Wall Street, "don't confuse brains with a bull market." Knowing too much can be detrimental to your stock trading. The market can be irrational and illogical, and is certainly oblivious to your vast knowledge. Oftentimes, you have to act without complete information. While a superb intellect can help you understand what has happened, it may prevent you from acting while something is happening because you will either know better or have to understand first, before acting.

Corporate

Being good at team work and consensus building can also work against you in stock trading. Seeking consensus before buying a stock means polling as many "reliable" sources as possible to make sure that everyone is bullish: multiple five star ratings and strong buys, message boards and CNBC raving... You will definitely have a large "team" on your side but will be too late, buying at the top before a big drop.In stock trading people act first and talk second. Any opinion publicly expressed is already priced in and therefore worthless.

Being skilled at office politics can help you hide mistakes and shift responsibility but the blame game will get you nowhere in stock trading. Blame whomever you want as much as you want - Jim Cramer, your broker, the mysterious MMs - but at the end of the day what matters is your account balance.

This does not mean that if you are a successful engineer or scholar, you shouldn't invest. You just need to be aware that some of the qualities that make you successful in your profession can work against you in stock trading.

How To Locate Ge Appliance Repair Appliance Repair Expertise For Your Every single Appliances

Appliance Repair in Boise by guitarman56

Appliances can get damaged in a number or ways. Heavy objects can fall on the surface of the appliance or a sharp edge can scratch or chip the surface of the appliance. A ding or scratch won't effect the performance of an appliance but it will affect the appearance of the appliance. You can easily buy some touch up paint to fix the surface of a damaged appliance. White is the easiest to fix but you can buy any color you need to fix the scratch or scuff. You can buy the patching paint at a hardware store.

After you get the paint you need to repair the surface of the appliance take some time to wash the surface to be painted. You can use a kitchen scrub pad and some detergent to wash the affected area. Make sure to rinse it well and dry it before you apply the paint.

If the scratch is small then touch it up with a very small amount of paint. It will look better and stay good looking longer then if you apply a large glob of paint onto the surface.

If the area to be repaired is a large area then you may need to get a 15-ounce can of spray paint to fix the scratch or scuff. Get paint that matches the color of your appliance.

First take sand paper that is 600 grit and sand the area to be painted. After you sand the area take a damp cloth and wipe the surface that you sanded. Then let the surface dry.

Shake the can of paint according to the directions on the can and spray the entire area very lightly. Then let the area dry well. After the paint is dry you should apply a second coat of paint to the area. You may have to apply several coats of paint until you get the damaged area covered entirely. Don't put on a heavy coat of the paint or you will develop drips and streaks on the surface of the appliance. If you do develop drips you can sand the area smooth and wipe it with a damp cloth. Once the area has dried you can apply a light coat of paint on the area.

When painting a metal surface it can be somewhat challenging to keep the paint from dripping and smearing. It is most important to apply thin coats of paint to prevent drips form developing.
